MLK Day in pictures: CAPCS Safari Mural

text and photos by Matt Repka, corps member on the Serve DC Team serving at Johnson Middle School.

Over 950 volunteers came out to Dunbar Senior High School today to perform community service alongside City Year corps members in honor of Martin Luther King Day. Honoring Dr. King’s legacy with a commitment to serving others, volunteers took on projects at Dunbar, Community Academy Public Charter School (CAPCS), So Others Might Eat (SOME) and the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington.

In the photos below, volunteers and corps members transforme an entire CAPCS hallway with a giant safari-themed panoramic mural. More photos and a recap of the entire MLK service day coming soon.
